I’ve tried installing the Desktop version via the provided link and it fails time after time. Once placed in my Applications directory, I double click to launch the software and receive the following message:

**ComfyUI needs a valid directory set as its base path. Inside, models, custom nodes, etc will be stored.**

**Click OK, then selected a new base path.**

I select the directory and proceed and then I receive the following message:

**Unhandled exception**

Hi there, it sounds like you have invalid configuration. Please try the following to reset your settings and reinstall:

1. Close the app
2. Remove both of the configuration files listed in the [User Guide](https://comfyorg.notion.site/ComfyUI-Desktop-User-Guide-1146d73d365080a49058e8d629772f0a#1836d73d365080c6a62dc493274f1f43)
3. Start the app
4. Follow the installation process, selecting a new, empty directory to install to
