ComfyUI update fail: The installed ComfyUI does not have a Git repository.
Hi
I’m facing same issue on WIndows 11. So please let me add here my explanatioins to dev team.
Installed Comfy desktop v 0.3.15. When it launched, I open Comfyui Manager that says “Your ComfyUI is too OUTDATED!!!”
When tried “Update all”, I got the same error massage as you “ComfyUI update fail: The installed ComfyUI does not have a Git repository.”
It’s the same on Mac OS 15.1
I was also having troubles, WIN 10 here. I even tried a “re-install”, which was the option that in my eyes looked the most close to an “update” button after all the other options in the manager failed. I was also surprised that it did NOT “overinstall” in the same directory if not it was claiming that there is already a comfyui and that I should use another location. This should be fixed imho and it should be possible to re-install in the very same directory if chosen so to keep models, customnodes etc in place. Now I have 2 comfyui’s sitting on my PC with none I would like to keep, cause the new one also tells me that comfui is too outdated. so I will kick everything and restart over again with a complete fresh install
- Being able to “reinstall” in the same directory makes sense.
- There is no way to update your “ComfyUI version” yet in the Desktop app. We wanted to advance everyone with the latest stable. We can add a way to make this possible however.
