Hello,

I have been using the ComfyUI desktop version, and I recently noticed a notification in the Manager indicating that updates were needed. After updating both the custom nodes and ComfyUI, I can no longer access the desktop version. It continuously prompts me to reinstall.

Could you please help me understand what might have gone wrong and provide a solution? Although the WebUI version works well on the Chrome browser, I primarily rely on the local desktop application, so I would appreciate a quick resolution to this issue.

ComfyUI does not start

Thank you for letting us know! With a little more info, we should be able to reproduce this issue and get it resolved. Have you installed desktop previously, or was this a fresh install? Could you please upload the log files? There is some extra info on app startup there. Either here or to hello@comfy.org works. The solution for that user was:

ComfyUI does not start

Have reviewed the logs - it is almost certainly being caused by a custom nodes. If you search for the exact string [info] ERROR: Restoring in the main.log you sent, you should find 4 instances - each one naming an extension that failed to be restored. There were some other errors, but this is the easiest starting point. You can simply disable those four by moving their directories out of the custom_nodes directory in your install location.

It seems that one of your extensions is blocking server startup. Can you please try moving all the custom node packs out of the custom nodes directory, then loading the app? This should narrow down if we should be looking a the desktop code, or if we just need to find which extension is causing the issue.

I had the same error. Just replaced the ComfyUI Manager custom node and startup was fine again.

HI there,
i don’t know if i should make another thread or post it here, since i get the same error but not after an update. I tried installing for the first time i got some nvidia driver errors, then i updated and run the installation again, then it asked for the git, i installed again and then i got the same error as Magatone. As i see it doesn’t let me upload here my main.log because i am new here…any help would be appreciated.

I can’t see any mention of having tried the troubleshooting steps I laid out in this thread - if you have not, I am kind of curious why, but please try that first.
