PIP is regularly outdated. With the WebUI version you have still a console open that may remind you to update. With the desktop version this console closes after booting. And so you may miss a PIP update.
Suggestion: update PIP from within the GUI, from the manager. Maybe include it into the update all feature. This might also prevent it to mix it up with the global PIP installation, which you might have already updated. And then wonder why it still moans …
Not sure why it throws a notice two times here. Shouldn’t it just warn once?
The PIP update feature carries some risks. Custom nodes may require specific versions, and there are cases where specialized PIPs require unique index URLs or similar configurations.
If updates are performed arbitrarily, a sudden influx of custom nodes causing issues may arise.
Yeah, true. But an up to date Comfy also requires an up to date PIP. Else newer nodes may not work properly. And it is no difference if you make it by console or by a button in the UI. But the UI way would definitely be more convenient.
