Localization problem

I’d like to express my sincere gratitude for the latest update, which added Japanese language support and localized ComfyUI. As a native Japanese speaker, this is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

However, there’s still an issue with the localization, not just with Japanese but across the board. While translating the menus and settings improves readability—which I personally love—translating the node titles presents a few challenges.

Firstly, the direct machine translation often results in unnatural phrasing. For example, “Load Style Model” is translated as “スタイルモデルを読み込む” (Sutairu Moderu wo Yomikomu), which feels quite redundant. “スタイルモデル読み込み” (Sutairu Moderu Yomikomu) would be more concise. Ideally, however, the node titles would simply remain in English for better visual clarity.

This leads to a second issue. Even after switching the language back to English, the node titles remain in Japanese. Manually correcting each node or using the “Recreate” function for custom nodes is a cumbersome workaround. Having to manually fix every single node is, frankly, rather absurd.

Therefore, I’d like to propose two potential solutions:

  • Limit language switching to menus, settings, and other descriptive text.

  • Provide an option to toggle language switching for node titles specifically.

Thank you for considering this feedback.

Thank you; I really do appreciate the detail (and honestly the romaji, too). I will look into the situation with node titles. There are some fundamental differences there, but we need to ensure that all that is silently handled for you. Leave it with me.

Until it is done properly, some helper commands you may wish to run from the browser console.

  1. Reset all node titles in the current workflow:
graph.nodes.forEach(x => x.title = x.constructor.title)
  1. Reset titles of selected nodes only:
for (const x of app.canvas.selectedItems) if (x instanceof LGraphNode) x.title = x.constructor.title

The replaced titles will show up after you click or move the mouse over over the canvas.

Thank you so much for your willingness to address this! I also appreciate the temporary workaround you provided. (I had already reset things, so I’ll be sure to try it next time the issue occurs.)

I do have one more thing to mention. Even after switching the interface back to English, certain elements sometimes remain in Japanese, as shown in the attached screenshot. I’ve tried clearing my browser cache, but that didn’t resolve the issue.

While all I can do is report these issues, I’m truly grateful for your commitment to addressing them. Please keep up the great work!
